Four steps to your first game

1. 1. Install a wallet

   Get a free Solana wallet like Phantom or Solflare — a browser extension or phone app. It’s your login and your bank; there’s no email or account to create.

2. 2. Back up your recovery phrase

   Your wallet shows a 12- or 24-word recovery phrase. Write it down offline and never share it. Anyone with those words controls your funds — ChainPot will never ask for them.

3. 3. Add some SOL

   You need SOL to pay entry fees (and a tiny amount for network fees). Buy it inside the wallet with a card, or send SOL from an exchange to your wallet address.

4. 4. Connect to ChainPot

   Open ChainPot, click Connect wallet, pick your wallet, and approve one free signature to sign in. You’re ready to join a room.

What you are actually signing

Wallets ask for approval a lot, and the prompts look alike. On ChainPot there are only two kinds, and they are easy to tell apart.

Signing in — a message, not a transaction

Connecting asks you to sign a short message proving you hold the wallet. It costs nothing, moves nothing, and grants no permission to touch your funds later. Your wallet will describe it as a signature request rather than a transaction.

Joining a room — a transaction that moves SOL

Taking a seat sends your entry fee to the on-chain program that holds the pot. This one does move SOL, and the amount shown in your wallet is the amount you are committing. Rejecting it costs nothing — the seat simply stays unclaimed.

Getting paid — nothing to sign

Winnings are pushed to your wallet by the program when the match resolves. There is no withdrawal to request and no approval to give. If a payout is ever late, it is late on-chain and visible in an explorer — it is not sitting in a company balance.

No prompt on ChainPot will ever ask for your recovery phrase. Any page that does is not ours, whatever it looks like.

How much SOL to start with

Enough for the entry fee of the room you want, plus a little headroom. The platform takes 5% per seat and the winner receives the other 95% of the pot; 1v1 rooms apply a 0.01 SOL floor to that fee, and Cashout rooms add a flat 0.02 SOL to join. Solana network fees are a fraction of a cent per transaction, but you do need a small SOL balance to pay them — funding a wallet with exactly one entry fee and nothing more is the usual first mistake. If something goes wrong

• The connect button does not see your wallet. Unlock the extension first, then reload the page. Wallets are invisible to a site while locked, and a second browser profile with its own extensions is a common culprit.
• The transaction fails or is rejected. Nothing is charged for a rejected transaction — you keep your SOL and no seat is taken. A failure usually means the balance no longer covers the entry plus network fees, or the room filled while the prompt was open.
• Your balance looks wrong after joining. An entry that is escrowed for a live room has left your wallet but has not been lost. Look up your wallet in an explorer to see exactly where it went.
• Still stuck. Ask in Discord with your wallet address and roughly when it happened — that is enough to trace a match or a payout.
