ChainPot Snake modes explained: 1v1 Duel, Arena, and Cashout
ChainPot Snake isn't one game — it's three, and each room type plays and pays out differently. Picking the right one for your mood and bankroll is half the battle. Here's how 1v1 Duel, Arena, and Cashout actually work.
1v1 Duel — head-to-head, winner takes all
A Duel is the purest version of the game: two snakes, one pot. Both players pay the same SOL entry, the fees are pooled and escrowed on-chain, and whoever outlasts the other takes the whole thing. There's nowhere to hide and no chaos to exploit — it's pure positioning and nerve against a single opponent.
Play it when: you want a fast, skill-on-skill match and a clean 2× on your entry. Duels are also the best place to practice the cut-off and bait tactics that win bigger rooms.
Arena — up to 20 players, one survivor
Arena is the marquee mode: a large room that fills with up to 20 snakes, all paying in, all fighting to be the last one alive. Because there's a single winner and every seat adds to the pot, the prize can be many times your entry — but so is the competition.
The dynamics are completely different from a Duel. Early on, the field thins itself out as reckless players collide; your job is to survive that opening scramble without getting involved. The endgame — the last handful of snakes circling a thinning arena — is where the pot is really decided.
Play it when: you want the biggest upside and you're willing to play patiently. Arena rewards discipline over aggression: every rival who eliminates themselves grows your share and your odds.
Cashout — always-on, bank and leave
Cashout rooms break the "last snake standing" mold entirely. They're always running, so you can join any time. Instead of a single end-of-match pot, every kill banks your victim's entry fee into your withdrawable balance — and you can cash out whenever you're still alive. Hit a wall, though, and you forfeit the lot.
This turns Cashout into a game of risk management as much as reflexes. Do you leave with a solid banked balance, or risk it for one more kill? Cashout rooms come in tiers (different entry sizes) so you can match the stakes to your comfort level.
Play it when: you want flexible sessions you can drop into and out of, and you enjoy the push-your-luck decision of when to walk away.
Which should you play?
| Mode | Players | Payout | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1v1 Duel | 2 | Winner takes the pot | Fast, pure skill matches |
| Arena | up to 20 | Last survivor takes the pot | Biggest upside, patient play |
| Cashout | open | Bank kills, cash out alive | Flexible sessions, risk management |
Every room settles on-chain — your entry is escrowed by a Solana program and your winnings are paid straight to your wallet, no custodian and no withdrawal queue.
